Dinner with Henry Part 13: The Day Offf went up at the The Piker Press And so did the third part of Cody Stanford’s amazing Flying Fox Part two of Cody Stanford’s Flying Fox went up at the Piker Press today. And a story called “Lenore and the E-fly.” was accepted for the forthcoming anthlogoy from Static Movement called The Cedar Chest. Part one ( out of four) of Cody Stanford’s amazing ” Flying Fox” has gone up at The Piker Press And Dinner With Henry Part 12: In The Begining has gone up there as well! A story called The Edge of Tomorrow went up at Aphelion This happens to be my third story published at Aphelion. Aphelion is one of the best zines out there thanks to editors like Robert Moriyama.
A story went up at Bending Spoons entitled, The Game Indoors Went up at The Piker Press I have already written 26 Henry stories. So, actually, at a bi-monthly publication I’ve got over a years worth of Henrys complete. The anthology with At Arm’s Reach just went up on sale at Amazon A story called “The Edge of Tomorrow” will be going up at Apheilon this weekend. In this tale a man recuprating from a heart attack in the hospital succumbs to a soap opera plot when the nurse leave the TV on too long Dinner with Henry part 10: The Big Drip went up at The Piker Press! A piece just went up at Necrology Shorts. This one is called “The Ungerground.” It’s about a haunted subway train that dispences its own bizzare judgement. One thing though the editor forgot to itlalize the train annoucments, so just imagine them while I wait for them to be fixed. I just had a story go up at Death Head Grin. The title of the story is, coincidently “Deathbed.” It’s a little bizzaro, a little fun. Enjoy! I just had the fastest acceptance of my brief writing career. Less than an hour after I submitted it I got the good word. A story called “At Arm’s Reach.” will be published in the forthcoming anthology book from Static Movement titled “Dusted.” This is a horror comedy piece about a rough and tumble Archie Bunker type of cop and his new, not only female, but Russian partner and the case of a killer hand. Here is a draft of the book jacket. I just had a story published called “Vicitm Number 13,” in Strange Weird and Wonderful Magazine. Strange Werid and Wonderful is a PDF mag and it’s beautfiully put together. . To get a copy of the mag just follow the link to where it says “Download now.” My story is on page 82. But the magazine is chock full of great stuff. Enjoy! I sold a story called The Children’s Room to Whortleberry Press for their Halloween Anthology. They don’t pay much but it will be published in a book. This is actually a story I rewrote, it’s about a child ghost, a girl named Meryl. I picked a child ghost because not having matured I thought she’d make a particularly dangerous sort of ghost. Dinner with Henry Part 9: The Last of Sheila ? went up at The Piker Press today. A story called “The Last Party ” has been accepted for publication in Yellow Mama A story called “The First Vampire” has been accepted for publication in Dark Gothic Resurrected Magazine. I mixed fact and fiction and based it on Vlad the Impaler, the real life dude Bram Stroker based Draucla on.I set in on the day of his death. It’s pretty interesting. It’s coming out in October. So I’m sure I’ll post more than in the meanwhile I have Vicitim Number 13 coming out in Strange Weird and Wondeful Magazine on July 1 and also on July 1 one called Deathbed, in Death Head Grin. Dinner with Henry part 8 The Sting went up atThe Piker Presstoday. I’m having a story called A Cut Above the Rest published in Bewlidering Stories. It’s funny because I sent the story to them so long ago, I’d forgotten I’d sent it to them. But I heard from them out of the blue at the end of last week. So that is good news. We’re having the greatest week weahter-wise here in NYC. Low 70s and sunny. Picture perfect, and nice and cool at night, so you don’t even need the AC. It could stay like this all sumner long and I’d be a happy camper! Cody Stanford’s wonderful Wolf Dreams went up at Toasted Cheese today. A Piano for Bentley.I guess you’d call it a horror comedy piece, or light horror has been published in Audience Magazine. A PDf magazine you’ll find it on page 83 Here! Jun

One of the funniest submission calls I’ve ever readFor this anthology, we would like to see stories involving demons and demonic possession. As this is a horror collection, please don’t send any stories about demons being depressed, falling in love with the local high school outcast, or trying to come to terms with their humanity (face it…they have none! They’re DEMONS!). We’re looking for stories that will mutilate our souls and have us screaming “Unclean! Unclean!” in the shower. We want to be horrified. We want you to make us puke. We want to have a sit down with your parents and ask them how they managed to birth such a twisted little monster. May

Stephen Gallagher mentions Twice The Terrorin his blog. Dinner with Henry Part 6: Yvette went up today. A new character is introduced in this eppy, Andre’s niece Yvette. Imagine an 86 year run? Farewell, Annie. The sun will come out tomorrow — but there won’t be many more tomorrows for “Little Orphan Annie.” Daddy Warbucks’s favorite pupil-less redhead had enough Depression-tested pluck to survive 86 years in daily newspapers, but now the orphan’s outta luck. Come June 13, her clear-eyed comic strip will end as her syndicate, Tribune Media Services, sends her off into the sunset. Canceled. At this moment Amazon only has one copy of Twice The Terror left from the batch they just got yesterday. Either we are an enormous hit, or Bear Mannor hasn’t been sending them a lot of copies! I like to think we are an enormous hit. Is back in stock at AMAZON I’ve never had this happen before. While doing a search tonight I found out a ghost story I wrote titled What Killed Harry? was published in a PDF magazine called Suspense Magazine, in their February 2010 issuse. I wasn’t notified that my story was accepted and that it would be published but here it in on page 65 of this magazine! The wonderful conclusion to Cody Standord’s Gryphonwind went up at the Piker Press today.
“Twice the Terror: THE HORROR ZINE” contains contributions from such famous writers such as Graham Masterton, Bentley Little, Joe R. Lansdale, Deborah LeBlanc, Ed Gorman, Stephen Gallagher, Terence Faherty, and Hugh Fox. But it also contains deliciously dark delights from morbidly creative people who have not yet made the big time…but they will soon. Like Bruce Memblattt Twice The Terror the Horror Zine anthlogy just became available at Amazon! And just as quickly I just heard they sold out the first batch. But Jeani said they will be getting more copies in very soon. Well, it’s been an interesting week in New York we had the car bomb scare and the Tony nominations and it isn’t even Wednesday. Lord knows what the rest of the week will bring. I don’t know about you guys but I am staying indoors. My first instincts are always to hide. When it comes to flight or flee I am a fleeer (is that a word? ) I want to remind you all it’s National Library week. I know you people haven’t seen the inside of a library since you were drinking Mad Dog in the back seat of Randy’s 1979 Impala, but stop by this week. Be a library enthusiast. Part three of Cody Stanford’s incredible Gryohonwind went up today at The Piker Press. And so did Dinner with Henry part 5 I just heard from Jeani Rector who loved a new story I sent her called “The New Me.” I have two new stories up today. This second one is up at The Cynic Online and it’s called Alien Dish A story called These are the front and back covers for the second anthlogy from Jeani Rector’s The Horror Zine. It’s titled “Twice The Terror.” A story called “The Police Station” formerly known as “The Last Station” will be among the many treasures in this forthcoming anthology. You will find some well known writers like Graham Masterson and J.R. Lansdale and some unkowns like me in this book from Bear Manor Press coming to Amazon soon. I got an advance copy of Part two of Cody Stanford’s amazing Gryphonwind went up at The Piker Press today! When you get a rejection a few keen statistics to keep in mind: Dune by Frank Herbert – 13 rejections Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – 14 rejections Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis – 17 rejections Jonathan Livingston Seagull – 18 rejections A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle – 29 rejections Carrie by Stephen King – over 30 rejections Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell – 38 rejections A Time to Kill by John Grisham – 45 rejections I wasn’t expecting this story to go up untill next month, but Black Lantern Publishing released their summer issue early so I give you Part one of Cody Stanford’s amazing novella Gryphonwind went up today at The Piker Press today. And coincidently so did Part 4 of Dinner with Henry So it is a banner day at The Piker Press! The Box a piece I have been trying to get published for a long time has been accepted for pubication next month at 69 Flavors of Paronoia which is a mag I’ve been trying to get published in for a while too. So I am a happy camper. A piece called “An Impression of a Life” has been accecpted for publication in the summer issue of on line litetary arts journal Black Lantern Publishing I liked that the editor said it was “creepy” because that is exactly what I was going for. It’s my creepy doll story. |
